European Cabinets information

What are European cabinets?

European cabinets, also known as frameless cabinets, are a style of cabinetry that originated in Europe and are characterized by their sleek, modern appearance. Unlike traditional framed cabinets, European cabinets do not have a face frame, which allows for more accessible storage space and a seamless look. They often feature full-overlay doors, concealed hinges, and clean lines, making them popular in contemporary kitchen and bathroom designs. These cabinets are known for their functionality, durability, and efficient use of space.

What are the typical responsibilities and challenges for someone working in European cabinet installation or manufacturing?

Professionals in European cabinet installation or manufacturing are often responsible for precise measurement, assembly, and installation of frameless, modern cabinetry in residential or commercial settings. The role requires attention to detail, problem-solving skills for onsite adjustments, and effective communication with designers, contractors, and clients. Common challenges include working in varying site conditions, meeting tight deadlines, and ensuring high-quality finishes that match contemporary design standards. Teamwork is essential, as projects often involve collaboration with carpenters, architects, and project managers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a European cabinet maker, and why are they important?

To thrive as a European Cabinet Maker, you need expertise in woodworking, cabinetry design, precise measurement, and experience with materials like MDF and laminates, often supported by vocational training or an apprenticeship. Familiarity with CAD software, woodworking machinery, and hand tools is essential for producing high-quality, custom cabinetry. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and strong communication skills with clients and team members help set top professionals apart. These abilities ensure accurate, visually appealing installations and efficient project completion that meet client expectations.

Custom Closet & Storage Installer
Details Matter Here. So Do the People Doing the Work.
Studio G began in 1995 and has grown into a design-forward company specializing in residential glass, closets, and premium hardware for new construction and renovation projects along the lakeshore. We work with builders, designers, and homeowners at the final stage of construction—when precision, organization, and craftsmanship matter most.
This is not rushed, production-style work.
This is clean, detailed finish work.
Our installers are supported by clear scheduling, prepared job sites, and a team that values communication and quality. If you are a naturally disciplined professional who loves following clear design schematics, enjoys working with your hands, and takes deep personal pride in keeping a job site completely clean and square, your natural strengths will shine here. For this role, we are looking for a highly structured, detail-oriented person who gets genuine satisfaction from creating perfectly organized, orderly systems.
Key Responsibilities & What You’ll Be Doing:
  • System Installation: Accurately assemble and mount premium ORG Home custom melamine cabinetry, reach-in/walk-in storage systems, and heavy-duty wire configurations into both residential and commercial settings
  • Hardware Integration: Install modular closet components including CAM-lock panel walls, European hinges, heavy-duty suspension rails, jewelry drawers, and sliding accessories
  • Structural Precision: Locate wall studs, assess drywall stability, and utilize precise leveling tools to ensure heavy storage units are anchored safely and perfectly flush.
  • On-Site Adaptability: Safely read and interpret 3D architectural cut-lists and layouts, making clean, minor adjustments on-site when dealing with uneven home construction floors or walls
  • Respectful Client Presence: Maintain an impeccably clean work area inside high-end residential homes, managing dust and protecting luxury flooring. Communication with customer on-site when needed to confirm details, always in a positive and professional manner
  • Clean & Controlled Workspace: Maintain a highly organized tool kit and clean up wood/metal shavings immediately, leaving luxury homes in pristine condition. Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicles
  • Increase Efficiency: Manage specialized installation work efficiently with confidence and competence, maintaining a high standard of accuracy and on-time competition
  • Humbly Serve: take pride in disciplined, precise workmanship while collaborating with Studio G team members in a stable and well-organized work environment. Communication is to be kind and professional.
Qualifications:
  • Previous installation, carpentry, or construction experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to read measurements accurately
  • Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely
  • Ability to lift and handle materials safely
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in finish carpentry or installing closet systems, cabinetry, or melamine products
  • Strong competence with standard trade tools
  • Ability to safely lift, carry and hold heavy melamine panels without damaging product
  • Familiarity with residential installation environments
  • Experience reading shop drawings or layout plans
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
Benefits & Compensation:
Studio G offers a comprehensive benefits package to eligible employees, including but not limited to:
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Disability and life insurance
  • Retirement savings plan
  • Health Savings Accounts
  • Chiropractic care

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and skill set.
