Job description

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking to hire a Legal Recruiting Assistant reporting to the Legal Recruiting Manager. This position will reside in the Washington, D.C. office and will provide administrative support to the legal recruiting function in Washington, D.C. The Legal Recruiting Assistant will assist with the organization and planning of the summer associate program, law school outreach, on-campus, 1L and 2L recruiting, lateral associate recruiting and orientation, and will support the Legal Recruiting team in all aspects of daily tasks.

A hybrid in-office/remote working schedule is available for this position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Lateral Recruiting

  • Maintain applicant-tracking system for lateral candidates.

  • Greet and exit candidates during in-person interviews.

  • Assist with collecting interviewer evaluations

  • Coordinate lateral new hire onboarding.

Law School Recruiting

Summer Associate Program

  • Assist the Legal Recruiting Manager with coordination of the summer associate program.

  • Coordinate logistics and attend all summer associate social events alongside the Legal Recruiting Manager, create name tags, track RSVP attendance, confirm event venues, and day-of event coordination.

  • Assist with the summer associate assignment process, which includes (but not limited to) collecting and assembling evaluation packets for the Hiring Partner, drafting and sending evaluation reminder emails, and synthesizing assignment feedback.

  • Respond to general questions from summer associates and attorneys.

1L, 2L, & On-Campus Recruiting

  • Assist with the coordination of law school recruiting events.

  • Schedule virtual screening and callback interviews as well as greeting & exiting candidates for office visits.

  • Collect interview evaluation forms, send evaluation reminder emails as needed, and assemble candidate application packets for weekly Hiring Committee meetings.

  • Assist with sending correspondence to applicants regarding their application status.

  • Upload application materials to candidate's application via the applicant-tracking system.

  • Assist with updating and maintaining various law school recruiting tracking documents and event attendance reports.

Other Responsibilities

  • Work with the Accounts Payable department to process all recruiting expenses through the Emburse system.

  • Collaborate with Office Services to ship swag to various law schools; and maintain swag closet and inventory.

  • Book conference rooms and order catering.

  • Data entry in applicant tracking system and internal databases.

  • Be an active participant in attorney recruiting office events.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and a minimum of one year of experience. The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered

  • Proficient technical skills, including MS World, Powerpoint, and Excel. ViRecruit and Symplicity experience is a plus.

  • Consistently maintain a positive attitude and demeanor in all aspects of the position.

  • Take initiative on tasks and embrace challenges as learning opportunities.

  • Independent, self-starting, and self-motivated.

  • Superior written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and collegially within a team environment are a must.

  • Must be willing and available to work overtime during the spring/summer and fall seasons, and occasionally work in-office on Mondays and Fridays throughout the year.

For positions in Washington, DC, the salary range for this position is: $55,500.00 -
$88,800.00.


The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during theinterview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limitedto prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors.The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based onother reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wagesmay be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensationpackage for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/orother benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, suchas vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employeereceives an offer of employment.
