Job Summary: Develop shop drawings and operation and maintenance manuals, assist the Quoting and Sales Departments with project support, and create submittals for all divisions of Etna as needed. This role works closely with commercial plumbing products and requires familiarity with Pipes, Valves, and Fittings (PVF), as well as a strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy across all project documentation and submittals.


Typical Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a positive customer experience by meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Communicate courteously, effectively, and professionally with both internal and external customers.
  • Review project documents and understand project scope requirements for bidding purposes.
  • Obtain specification drawings from vendors and internal computer databases.
  • Prepare shop drawings, submittal documents, and operation and maintenance manuals accurately and efficiently.
  • Meet or exceed required customer deadlines.
  • Maintain organized digital files containing all required project information.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of commercial plumbing projects, plumbing products, PVF (Pipes, Valves, and Fittings) mechanical systems, underground utilities, heating, and HVAC through manufacturer trainings, web-based trainings, and hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail when reviewing specifications, preparing submittals, and maintaining project documentation.
  • Notify supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions within quoted items or the computer database.
  • Track and enter activities into the department job tracking system.
  • Assist the Quoting and Sales Departments with projects and support as needed.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and work safely at all times.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of products sold and their applications, including plumbing products and PVF (Pipes, Valves, and Fittings).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and deadlines while adapting to changing situations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, attention to detail, teamwork, judgment, problem-solving, and stress management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, Eclipse, Submittal 123, and Adobe Professional.
  • Effective and professional business writing skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide with or without the use of a calculator.
  • Ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts including proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.


Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; and/or
  • Six months to one year of related experience and training; or
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
