Alpharetta Veterinary Specialty + Emergency (AVSE) is seeking experienced General Practice Veterinarians with 2+ years of clinical experience who are excited to transition into ER through the Ethos ER Immerse Program.


This is an exceptional opportunity to build confidence and skills in emergency medicine while being supported by an experienced, collaborative specialty and emergency team in a stateโ€‘ofโ€‘theโ€‘art hospital environment.

AVSE is a brandโ€‘new, 20,500 sq ft specialty and emergency hospital offering ER, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, and Neurology. Led by an experienced Medical Director and supported by Ethos Veterinary Health, we are committed to providing advanced medical care, compassionate communication, and a collaborative, wellnessโ€‘focused workplace.

Grow with Structured ER Mentorship

Through the Ethos ER Immerse Program, youโ€™ll receive handsโ€‘on mentorship and guided development designed specifically for experienced GP veterinarians transitioning into emergency medicine. You will work alongside experienced ER doctors and specialists while building confidence in triage, stabilization, critical care, emergency procedures, and case management.


For doctors interested in continued professional growth, AVSE also offers ongoing support through the Ethos ER ABVP Program, providing a pathway for advanced development in emergency practice.

The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program

The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.


The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulationโ€‘based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidenceโ€‘based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.


Program Duration / Commitment

  • 6โ€‘month training program with flexible and rolling start dates

  • 18โ€‘month commitment as an ER clinician at AVSE following training
