POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Ethics & Compliance Manager is responsible for supporting and advancing the organization's ethics and compliance program by promoting a culture of integrity, accountability, and ethical decision-making. This role oversees key compliance initiatives, monitors regulatory requirements, develops and delivers training, conducts compliance risk assessments, manages third-party compliance processes, and partners with business leaders to identify and mitigate compliance risks.

The Ethics & Compliance Manager serves as a trusted advisor to leadership and employees, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and ethical standards while fostering an environment where employees feel empowered to seek guidance and make ethical decisions.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Lead and continuously improve the company's Ethics & Compliance program, including third-party risk, conflicts of interest, anti-bribery/anti-corruption, training, and ethics culture initiatives.
  • Expand and support compliance programs across domestic and international operations to align with business growth and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor compliance policies, procedures, controls, and program effectiveness through audits, assessments, metrics, and reporting.
  • Provide guidance to employees and leaders on ethics, compliance policies, conflicts of interest, gifts and entertainment, and ethical decision-making.
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, identify emerging risks, and implement mitigation strategies and corrective actions.
  • Manage and enhance Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) processes, including due diligence, onboarding, monitoring, and remediation of suppliers and business partners.
  • Ensure compliance with FCPA, anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and other global regulatory requirements while monitoring regulatory changes and industry trends.
  • Develop and deliver compliance training, awareness campaigns, and communications that reinforce ethical behavior, reporting mechanisms, and company values.
  • Prepare compliance reports, dashboards, and metrics for leadership; support audits and maintain accurate compliance documentation and records.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and speak-up behavior while partnering across functions to strengthen compliance ownership and ethical leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Law, Risk Management, or a related field required.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in ethics, compliance, auditing, program management, risk management, legal, human resources, or related fields.

  • Experience managing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and developing training programs.

  • Experience supporting or managing third-party risk management, anti-bribery, and anti-corruption compliance programs preferred.

  • Experience conducting due diligence reviews and risk assessments of third-party business relationships preferred.

  • Experience working in a regulated industry preferred.

  • Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.

  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)

  • Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional-International (CCEP-I)

  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)

  • Other relevant compliance, risk, governance, auditing, or anti-corruption certifications.

LOCATION: Austin, MN - a comprehensive relocation package will be provided if not already in the vicinity. 

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel may be necessary 10% of the time.

Pay Range & Benefits:

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.  The base hiring pay range for this role is between $103,100 - $144,400 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will ,depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
