We're seeking a future team member for the role of Associate to join our ETF Service Delivery Team. The position is located in Boston, MA ( 4 day in office expectation).
In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Conduct collateral movement for ETF settlements across multiple domiciles.
  • Coordinate ETF basket-level settlement monitoring, communication with Authorized Participants (APs), and cash wire processing.
  • Engage with APs to coordinate collateral calls for delayed settlement ETF creates.
  • Receive and release funds to segregated custody accounts; process wires and confirmations.
  • Perform intraday monitoring and exception handling through market close to support timely issuance of ETF units.
  • Track and return excess collateral accurately and promptly; ensure precision in cash movements.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and evidencing for operational steps, approvals, and communications.
  • Escalate breaks and risk items; coordinate resolution across APs, Custody, and ETF operations.
  • Serve as a primary operational contact for APs on collateral logistics and settlement readiness.
  • Operate within defined control frameworks, dual-control processes, and approval checkpoints.
  • Regularly interact with stakeholders to answer questions and resolve issues regarding fund balances and processes.
  • Assist in evaluating GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine the impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices.
  • Execute day-to-day collateral processing, wire initiation steps, and confirmations in adherence to procedures.
  • Perform intraday monitoring, reconcile positions vs. collateral, and resolve exceptions.
  • Prepare operational artifacts and hand-offs for Approver sign-off; maintain complete records.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5-7 years of total work experience preferred.
  • Experience at a Big 4 accounting firm preferred.
  • Ability to provide guidance to less experienced team members.
  • May have people management responsibilities in some geographies.
  • Experience in ETF operations, custody, collateral management, or securities settlement (Canadian market knowledge is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of in-kind ETF creation/settlement workflows and cash collateral mechanics.
  • Proficiency with operational systems; experience with wire processing and reconciliations is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, control mindset, and documentation rigor; comfortable with intraday monitoring through market close.
  • Strong communication skills to manage AP interactions and cross-functional coordination.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage exceptions, and make risk-aware decisions under time constraints.
