Job description

As our Estimator, you'll turn plan drawings into competitive, accurate quotes. You'll review project Plans and specifications, perform material takeoffs, apply our scope and pricing standards, and compile professional quotes for structural steel and miscellaneous metals work we pursue.This is key behind-the-scenes role- your numbers determine which jobs we win and whether we make money on them.

  • Review plan drawings, specifications, and bid documents for steel and misc. metals scope
  • Perform on-screen takeoffs in Bluebeam - measure, count, and mark up drawings
  • Calculate material quantities, tonnage, and fabrication labor
  • Build and price quotes in our Excel estimating workbook
  • Apply AMFI's defined scope, labor rates, and markup to each bid
  • Track bid due dates and keep organized, auditable quote records
  • Coordinate supplier and outside-process pricing (galvanizing, coating, freight)
  • 3+ years of estimating experience in structural steel, metal fabrication, or a related construction trade
  • Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings and specifications
  • Solid Excel skills and comfort working with measurements and numbers
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record of accurate, on-time bids
  • Working knowledge of steel and metal fabrication processes
  • Self-directed and organized - able to manage multiple bids and deadlines
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu or similar software
  • Familiarity with miscellaneous metals- stairs, railing, embeds, ladders.
  • Exposure to detailing software (Tekla, SDS2) Or hans=ds-on shop operations.

We are looking for someone who can work from HOME 3 DAYS a week and IN OFFICE 2 DAYS.
