Senior Commercial Construction Estimator
Location: Gilbert, AZ
Salary: $140,000 – $160,000 + bonuses

About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established commercial general contractor with a long-standing presence in the Southwest, is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their team near Tempe, Arizona.

This role will play a key part in the company’s preconstruction efforts by preparing accurate conceptual budgets, detailed estimates, and competitive bids for a variety of ground-up commercial construction projects across multiple sectors.

The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor and a strong understanding of preconstruction processes, subcontractor bid coverage, and cost analysis for complex construction projects.

Position Overview
The Senior Estimator will be responsible for leading the estimating process from early conceptual budgeting through final bid preparation.

This individual will work closely with project managers, design teams, and subcontractors to ensure project costs align with design intent and client expectations.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator who enjoys collaborating with project teams and contributing to successful project pursuits across a diverse project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare conceptual budgets, cost estimates, and competitive bid proposals for commercial construction projects
• Perform quantity takeoffs and pricing analysis across all construction trades
• Manage subcontractor outreach, bid coverage, and bid leveling processes
• Develop detailed scopes of work and subcontractor bid packages
• Coordinate closely with project management and operations teams during preconstruction
• Participate in constructability reviews and value engineering efforts
• Work with architects and engineers to align project design with project budgets
• Track regional construction market pricing and subcontractor trends
• Support Design-Build and CMAR project pursuits when applicable
• Present estimates and cost analyses to internal leadership teams

Project Experience
This position will support estimating efforts across a variety of ground-up commercial construction projects, including:

Qualifications
10+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
• Strong experience estimating ground-up commercial construction projects
• Proven ability to prepare conceptual budgets and competitive hard bids
• Strong understanding of subcontractor bid coverage and scope development
• Ability to collaborate with project teams, design partners, and subcontractors
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously

Preferred Experience
• Experience with Design-Build or CMAR delivery methods
• Experience estimating multifamily, hospitality, institutional, or commercial office projects
• Familiarity with subcontractor markets across the Southwest or Arizona region
