SummaryThe Millwork Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive project estimates by reviewing bid documents, performing detailed takeoffs, and coordinating with vendors and internal teams. This role ensures all aspects of the bidding process align with company standards and project requirements. The Estimator supports both pre- and post-bid efforts, including pricing, clarifications, and project handoffs. Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills are essential to success in this role. Roles & ResponsibilitiesReview, interpret, and thoroughly understand all contract bid documents.Determine project scope and perform accurate, detailed material takeoffs in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Obtain accurate material pricing and vendor quotes by leveraging both internal databases and external sources.Collaborate with project management, production, and other departments to ensure bid items are constructible and manufacturable within the awarded budget.Calculate final proposed bid pricing by compiling all costs, including materials, production, shipping, and other related expenses.Communicate clearly and regularly with customers to address RFIs, clarifications, and scope-related questions.Provide timely and accurate responses to internal and customer inquiries regarding takeoffs and scope of work.Attend required project handoff meetings upon bid acceptance to ensure effective information transfer and alignment across departments.Present all necessary documentation and details during handoff meetings, including finalized bid information and supporting materials.Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to ensure high-quality proposals and pricing.Organize and distribute all bidding documents-such as specifications, drawings, and product lists-to appropriate vendors for pricing.Follow up with trade contractors and suppliers to ensure timely receipt of bids.Present and explain final bids to internal teams and stakeholders for review prior to submission.Adhere to all bid-related deadlines and ensure timely completion of assigned estimating tasks.Maintain ongoing communication with sales team members and customers throughout the bidding and project lifecycle.This is a remote salaried position. You must have sufficient and compatible space and work environment.
