Summary:

We are looking for a diligent Estimator to research bidding opportunities and prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering vendor quotes based off project specifications.

The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. You must also be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons.

The goal is to provide detailed proposals and takeoffs so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth.

Responsibilities of the Estimator include, but are not limited to:

  • Search for projects using online software packages; ConstructConnect, leads from Salespersons, E-mail invites, City websites, Contractor websites.
  • Provide formal request of project review by our sales team; issue Project Summary with Bid Date and Time, share written specifications and plans with the team to evaluate equipment sections.
  • Issue request for quotes on equipment to manufacturers, and/or via our Applications Team.
  • Create a Bidders List, Project Scope Letter, and Takeoff.
  • Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service.
  • Submit proposals to various contractors and clients on project opportunities.
  • Coordinate project handoff with project management department after award.
  • Track bid updates and addendum.
  • Generate upcoming bid reports.
  • Consistently meet deadlines and urgent needs of customers.

Qualifications of the Estimator include, but are not limited to:

  • Experience with construction/cost estimating is highly preferred.
  • Ability to analyze required documents, schematics, and project plans.
  • Familiarity with mechanical/process equipment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with financial and project management principles.
  • Highly organized with exceptional multitasking abilities.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including general website navigation.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Project).
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat.

  • Pay Range: $30.00 - $35.00+hr, DOE
  • Physical Demand: Sitting, walking, and standing. 
  • Working Conditions: Working primarily in an office environment, but may be exposed to warehouse, vendor locations and job sites.
