Job description


Hill International is seeking an Estimator to join our West Coast team.
The Estimator will develop construction estimates with supporting documentation, technical specifications, cost proposals, vendor/subcontractor quotes, market analysis, and other related documents to determine construction costs on all levels, from Program through Construction Documents.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the project team in preparing quantities of materials
  • Input quantities and unit pricing into estimate programs
  • Respond to requests for explanations of their cost estimates
  • Review contractor requests for equitable adjustment (REA's) for validity and assist in claims support and change order requests
  • Act as a resource for the project team in need of quick unit costs for reference
  • Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
  • Prepare estimates of all major and minor construction aspects including overall scope of work, time, and materials for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
  • Support Lead Estimators with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
  • Develop accurate quantities using programs such as On Screen, Takeoff, and Plan Swift
  • Develop estimates using estimating programs such as Timberline, Destini, and Excel

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field
  • PMP, PE, or relevant certifications preferred
  • Proficient with large-scale estimating software
  • Proficient with industry estimating databases and other estimating data sources
  • Demonstrates a proactive, firm and respectful approach to estimate reconciliation efforts and change order processing
  • Demonstrated experience with complex estimate reconciliations and change order negotiations
