Position Summary 

The HVAC & Plumbing Estimator plays a key role in supporting the sales and preconstruction functions of the company. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring all project pricing aligns with field conditions, project scope, and client expectations. 


Essential Functions 

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: 


Estimating & Preconstruction 

Prepare detailed HVAC and plumbing estimates based on plans, specifications, and site conditions. 

Perform takeoffs and analyze project scope for residential and light commercial work. 

Identify scope gaps, inconsistencies, and potential cost risks early in the process. 

Develop complete budgets including labor, material, and equipment costs. 


Sales Support 

Work closely with the sales team to prepare competitive and timely proposals. 

Assist with value engineering and scope clarification. 

Generate clear, organized proposals for client submission. 


Project Coordination 

Coordinate with project managers and field staff to ensure estimates reflect actual installation conditions. 

Maintain organized records of bids, revisions, and awarded work. 


Other Responsibilities 

Solicit vendor pricing and maintain supplier relationships. 

Stay current on Boston-area construction practices and pricing trends. 


Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications 

2+ years of experience in mechanical estimating, project management, or field operations. Strong understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems, ability to read plans, strong Excel skills, and attention to detail required.  Will consider 1+year of strong experience if specifically in HVAC and Plumbing field.
