Job Title: Drafting Team Lead
Location: Springfield, MO

Join Our Team at Creative Modular Construction (CMC)
Creative Modular Construction (CMC) is seeking an experienced and driven Drafting Team Lead to oversee our drafting department while supporting the successful execution of modular construction projects. This leadership role is responsible for managing drafting workflows, mentoring team members, ensuring drawing accuracy, and collaborating with project managers, estimators, and production teams to deliver high-quality project documentation.
The ideal candidate is an experienced AutoCAD professional with strong leadership abilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing and construction environment.
What You'll Do
  • Lead, mentor, and support the drafting team by providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Manage drafting schedules and prioritize workloads to ensure project deadlines are consistently met.
  • Review and approve drawings for accuracy, quality, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Develop project submittals for client approval in accordance with contract scope.
  • Create and maintain CAD drawings and electronic files for CNC fabrication and manufacturing.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Estimators, Engineering, and Operations to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain organized project documentation, drawing revisions, and electronic file management.
  • Assist with estimating takeoffs, value engineering initiatives, mockup development, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Identify opportunities to improve drafting standards, workflows, and departmental efficiency.
  • Support the implementation of new technologies, drafting methods, and process improvements.
  • Participate in project management, estimating, and operations meetings as needed.

What We're Looking For
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, fabrication drawings, and manufacturing processes.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
