Job description

Staab Construction is seeking an Estimator to join our growing team. We have estimating opportunities within our Earthwork, Building, and Mechanical divisions, offering a variety of challenging projects across Wisconsin and the Midwest.
The Estimator plays a key role in securing profitable work by developing accurate and competitive project estimates, coordinating bid efforts, and building strong relationships with owners, suppliers, subcontractors, and industry partners.
What You'll Do
  • Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
  • Perform quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Develop labor, material, equipment, and subcontract pricing.
  • Coordinate and lead all phases of the bidding process.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.
  • Prepare bid proposals and estimate reviews.
  • Support negotiated and design-build project opportunities.
  • Assist Project Managers with project turnover and change order pricing.
  • Maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and owners.

What We're Looking For
  • Experience in construction estimating, project engineering, project management, or a related construction role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Technical degree plus experience will be considered
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of construction means, methods, and costs.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software.
  • Experience in earthwork, commercial building, industrial, mechanical, municipal, or water/wastewater construction is a plus.
