Job description

Bartkowski Life Safety Corp is looking for a qualified estimating assistant who is energetic, responsible, self-motivated, resourceful, and team oriented. Previous experience in construction estimation is required.

Duties, Responsibilities, and Qualifications:

  • Assist with preparing project take-offs, pricing scope of work, and proposals.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and addenda.
  • Compile all documentation required for bid submission.
  • Assist with the creation of schedules.
  • Procure material, tools, and equipment quotes for bids.
  • Engage clients on respective bid queries.
  • Compile material and labor requirements for each job take-off and apply mark-ups for bidding.
  • Use OCS and Quick bid computer programs for estimating.
  • Assist with preparation of Change Order work on existing projects.
  • Prepare/Compile project data for turnover meetings for operations teams.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Visit sites and other venues necessary to do the estimate.
  • Create and present reports to upper management.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings.
  • Attend project walk-throughs.
  • Process contracts received.
  • Acquire insurance, both internal and CIP.

2+ years of Estimating in the commercial industry required.
Previous Firestop and Division 7 experience A PLUS
College degree preferred.
Proficiency in Quick Bid and On-Screen Takeoff. Detail-oriented, team player, and able to multi-task
