What does it mean to rent an esthetician room?

Renting an esthetician room means leasing a private or semi-private space within a salon, spa, or wellness center where you can provide skincare and beauty services to your clients. This arrangement allows estheticians to operate their own business independently, set their own hours, and manage their client base, while paying a fixed rent to the facility owner. Amenities such as equipment, utilities, and reception services may be included, but terms vary by location. It's a popular option for licensed estheticians seeking more control and flexibility compared to traditional employment.

What should I consider when renting a room as an esthetician in a salon or spa environment?

When renting a room as an esthetician, it's important to evaluate the amenities provided (such as utilities, laundry, and reception services), the terms of the lease, and the salon or spa's clientele. Consider how much autonomy you'll have over your schedule, marketing, and product choice, as these factors affect your business growth. Additionally, assess the environment for its professionalism, cleanliness, and the potential for collaboration or referrals from other practitioners. Open communication with the owner and understanding the expectations around shared spaces can help ensure a successful rental experience.

Job description

About Us
Smith Hair Salon is a community-first salon built on love, faith, and integrity. Our heart is simple. We want every person who walks through our doors to feel seen, valued, and cared for. We make professional beauty feel approachable, and we believe this work is really about people. We are growing our skincare side with Image Skincare and our signature Glow Facial, and we are looking for the esthetician who will help us build it.

The Role
This is more than a chair to fill. We are hiring the esthetician who will help shape our skincare side at our Murrieta location and grow it with us. You will deliver facials and skincare services, build your own clientele, and have a real hand in how our skincare program takes shape. This role starts part-time and is built to grow into full-time as your books fill. If you want ownership of something and room to build, this is it.

What You Will Do

  • Perform facials and skincare treatments, including our Image Skincare Glow Facial
  • Give honest, caring skin consultations and match clients with the right home care
  • Offer quick add-on services to hair clients, like our To Go Glow
  • Recommend Image Skincare retail with genuine care, never pressure
  • Build and rebook your own skincare clientele
  • Post and promote your work on social media to help grow your book and our community
  • Help shape our skincare services, offerings, and guest experience as we grow
  • Keep your treatment space clean, calm, and welcoming

Who You Are

  • You hold a valid California esthetician license
  • You have at least 1 year of esthetician experience
  • You love people and treat every guest like they matter, because they do
  • You see skincare as a relationship, not a transaction
  • You are comfortable recommending products and talking about real results
  • You are willing to post on social media and actively grow your own clientele
  • You want to build something and own it, not just clock in
  • You are reliable, professional, and ready to give your best

Schedule and Growth
Starts part-time, available Tuesday through Saturday, with a minimum of 4 hours per day. This role is built to grow into full-time as your books fill. We will work with you on the right shifts as you build.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay, plus the opportunity to grow your earnings as you build your clientele. Full details shared in your interview.
  • The chance to help build and shape our skincare program from the ground up
  • Product discounts on Image Skincare and Eufora
  • Ongoing education and a team that has your back
  • A warm, faith-forward environment that feels like family
  • A clear path from part-time to full-time, and room to grow with a company opening new locations

Smith Hair Salon is an equal opportunity employer. Everyone belongs here.
