Job description

SUMMARY
This role supports the Head Esports Coach in driving the growth, success, and retention of esports student-athletes. The position works collaboratively with the Esports, Marketing, and Admissions teams to strengthen recruitment pipelines, enhance student engagement, and ensure a high-quality program experience.
Day-to-day responsibilities focus on coordinating esports operations, supporting team activities, and serving as a liaison between the program and both internal and external departments. Supplemental coaching duties and additional tasks may be assigned as needed to support overall program objectives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop game strategies and tactics to ensure player and team success.
  • Instruct, teach, and coach student-athletes during practice.
  • Conduct video analysis and instruction as a teaching and preparation tool.
  • Identify, evaluate, recruit, and retain exceptional student-athletes.
  • Responsible for scheduling competitions and practices.
  • Represents USV at meetings relating specifically to esports.
  • Mentor the individual student athletes and nurture the esports program.
  • Provides reports and documentation as required by the Head Coach.
  • Conducts events, training, or competition as required by leadership.
  • Other duties and related projects as assigned, including admissions and enrollment tasks.

EDUCATION
  • Associate degree or higher preferred; or equivalent education and experience.

EXPERIENCE
  • One-year competitive Esports experience preferred.
  • Experience in one title required, experience in more than one title preferred.

SKILLS
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret information to support continuous improvement.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and listening skills.
