Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Adult School Principal and Adult School Program Coordinator, the Adult ESL Teacher provides English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction to adult learners in beginning through advanced proficiency levels, planning and effectively implementing standards-aligned and culturally responsive lessons that meet adult learners' diverse needs. The teacher supports students in developing English language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, writing, digital literacy, civics, workforce readiness, and academic skills in both in-person and virtual learning environments. The teacher plays a key role in instruction, student assessment, individualized support, and program improvement while maintaining accurate records and engaging in collaborative planning.
