Job Family FAC - Part-Time Faculty, Credit Classes Grade P1 Salary $54.37 - Base Rate Department School of Education Reports To Department Chairperson Closing Date Open Until Filled FLSA Status Exempt - Not Eligible for Overtime Compensation First Review Date July 29, 2025
Position Overview
Adjunct Faculty members teach courses to students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree - K-12 ESE.
Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes.
Classes may be at various campus locations.
What you will be doing
  • Teaches lecture and laboratory sections
  • Evaluates and advises students
  • Participates in departmental and College affairs
  • Develops curricula
  • Recruits students
  • Serves on committees
  • Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
  • Master' s Degree in Education with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Special Education/Exceptional Student Education; and State of Florida requirements for teacher preparation faculty must be met.
  • All educational degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to use innovative teaching techniques
  • Familiarity with distance learning and willingness to use technology tools in instruction
  • Ability to use collaborative learning techniques and student centered methods of instruction
  • Ability to work well with students and colleagues in a multi-ethnic/multi-cultural environment
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include evening and weekend assignments
  • Classes may be at various campus locations.
