Job Description
The incumbent in this position serves as the primary support for the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Exceptional Student Education (ESE) Program, providing services to all eligible Tribal Member students beginning with Pre-Kindergarten. The individual is responsible for collaborating with state level representatives of the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE), school administrators, instructional leaders, parents, STOF related service departments, and outside agencies and programs, to ensure the effective coordination and delivery of exceptional student programs and services. In addition, the Program Specialist provides technical assistance and expertise to ensure a continuum of service options. Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field is required. Master's Degree is preferred. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in teaching students with disabilities, with prior experience in supervision and administration of special education programs is preferred. Knowledge and proficiency of Response to Intervention (RTI) approach is required. Knowledge and proficiency of Section 504 Rehabilitation Act and IDEA, and state regulations governing ESE programs are preferred. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License is required. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Must have the ability to travel to all reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
