Commercial Real Estate Paralegal

Location: Tampa, FL

We are partnering with a highly respected law firm to identify an experienced Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced transactional environment and enjoys managing complex commercial real estate matters from inception through closing.

Position Overview

The Commercial Real Estate Paralegal will play a key role in supporting attorneys with sophisticated commercial real estate and finance transactions. This individual will manage transactions from start to finish, coordinate due diligence efforts, prepare and review legal documentation, and ensure smooth and timely closings.

Key Responsibilities Transaction Management & Closings

  • Manage commercial real estate and finance transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing, and multi-site developments.
  • Coordinate all aspects of real estate closings, including preparation and review of closing statements, settlement documents, transfer tax forms, and escrow releases.
  • Maintain detailed closing checklists and monitor critical deadlines and milestones.
  • Organize and maintain transaction files and closing binders, ensuring all post-closing requirements are completed.

Due Diligence & Title Review

  • Order, review, and analyze title commitments, surveys, title policies, endorsements, and inspection reports.
  • Coordinate due diligence for commercial and residential real estate transactions.
  • Review and summarize UCC searches, lien searches, judgment searches, and tax searches.
  • Identify title or survey issues and assist attorneys with resolution strategies.

Legal Documentation

  • Prepare and file legal documents including deeds, mortgages, leases, UCC financing statements, and conveyance documents.
  • Draft correspondence, memoranda, and abstracts of leases and loan documents.
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing commercial real estate contracts and finance agreements.
  • Ensure proper execution, recording, and filing of all transaction documents.

Administrative & Organizational Support

  • Maintain accurate and organized transaction records.
  • Coordinate with lenders, title companies, surveyors, and clients throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Monitor post-closing deliveries and ensure proper indexing and filing.
  • Support attorneys with ongoing workflow and transaction management.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of paralegal experience supporting commercial real estate and/or finance transactions in a law firm setting.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial real estate closings, title and survey review, and real estate finance transactions.
  • Ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred:

  • Florida Registered Paralegal designation.
  • Bachelor's degree or Paralegal certificate.
  • Experience with legal document management systems such as iManage, Aderant, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting complex or multi-site commercial transactions.
