Description:

Mascoma Bank is seeking a Loan Closer to join our Mortgage Lending team. The Loan Closer is a critical position to ensure a great final experience in their loan process. This person will work in a fast-paced environment dealing with multiple parties to bring together all the information and documentation to deliver a complete and compliant loan to the Bank.


What You'll Do

  1. Participates in, and contributes to, teamwork within the organization.
  2. Schedules closings and prepares closing documents for Residential Mortgages.
  3. Thorough knowledge of regulations and procedures specific to the settlement of Residential Real Estate Transactions to include: TRID, rescission, Secondary Market, Flood and escrow.
  4. Ensures that documentation complies with regulatory guidelines, bank policy and standards.
  5. Reviews loans for accuracy, completeness, and compliance as outlined by loan policy, MB on-line Origination manual, Secondary Market guide, Processing manual and Regulators.
  6. Utilizes automated underwriting system, Loan Product Advisor, and re-submits loans as outlined in MB Origination manual.
  7. Works closely with underwriting, Lenders, Lender Assistants and third-party vendors to resolve issues that may arise during the process.
  8. Responsible for reviewing reports for pending loans to ensure accuracy and timely follow up for all outstanding tracking items.
  9. Responsible for tracking conditions in LOS and reviewing documentation received to ensure it meets the guidelines.
  10. Assists co-workers, and interacts with customers, loan processing and third parties throughout the closing process (such as realtors, attorneys, insurance agents etc.).
  11. Maintains Closing/Post Closing procedure manuals.
  12. Assists in troubleshooting and resolving closing and quality control issues that may arise with Settlement Agents, Customers, Realtors, Loan Servicing, Secondary Market and Closing Staff.
Requirements:

Location: This is a hybrid position within the Upper Valley of VT and NH. There is an expectation of 1-2 days per week on-site in our White River Junction, VT Operations Center.
