Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Our Commercial Escrow Assistant is one who has a minimum of 3 years of industry related experience. H/She understands commercial escrow standards, title clearance, commitments to insure, title insurance policies with affirmative and/or extended coverages and endorsements, real estate regulations and guidelines, and legal and commercial loan document preparation. NOTE: This position is an “in-office” and not a remote or hybrid position.
DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Enter data and assist in the preparation and processing of Commercial title commitments, closing documents (e.g., Closing Statements and legal documents), final policies and legal descriptions.
Enter Commercial Title amp; Escrow Orders and maintain Commercial workflow reports
• Strong proofreading skills required. Compares exceptions shown in title report or commitment with buyers', sellers' and lenders' instructions for possible liens or encumbrances not authorized in escrow or lender instructions.
• Assists in reconciling discrepancies between instructions and title commitment, modifying escrow instructions or obtaining release of liens and other encumbrances as directed.
• Orders payoff statements, POA estoppel letters, insurance policies, homeowners warranties, insurance and assists in title curative matters.
• Warehouses files after closing, including recording Final Documents, disbursement of funds, overnighting sensitive documents and closing files.
  • Disburse closed files including facilitation of recordations.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Adheres to company policies and guidelines.
  • Become proficient in commercial closing software program (SoftPro)
  • Complete Certification of the ALTA “Understanding Commercial Transactions” training
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years of industry related experience
EDUCATION
A high school diploma is required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, INSURANCE
Must be a notary public. Completion of the ALTA “Understanding Commercial Transactions” will be required prior to or withing 90 days of employment
KNOWLEDGE
An in depth understanding of commercial real estate title and settlement process.
