Job description

Qualifications:
 
  1. Must meet all ESEA requirements.
  2. Paraprofessional Certificate, Associates or higher degree.
  3. Display ability in interacting with students and staff.
  4. Ability to physically assist students with impairments including lifting, escorting, and therapeutic physical restraint of students.
  5. Display empathy and advocacy for students.
  6. Display skill in working with students on social/emotional goals and objectives.
  7. Display skill in working with students in academic interventions.
  8. Possess the ability to provide delegated nursing services to students under the direction of a Registered Nurse.

Duties:
  1. Work under the supervision of the Teacher and/or Intervention Specialist and provide teaching and clerical support.
  2. Assist classroom teacher in the general supervision of students and class activities as directed.
  3. Provide individual and small group support to students under the direction of Intervention Specialist and/or Teacher.
  4. Perform clerical duties as assigned by the Intervention Specialist and/or Teacher.
  5. Prepare, obtain and maintain student educational materials as directed.
  6. Communicate with parents, as directed.
  7. Collect and chart student data as directed.
  8. Provide attendance services including, but not limited to:  delegated nursing services; hall escort/travel; lunch room and playground activities; entering and exiting buses/transportation; restroom/toileting assistance.
  9. Attending building meetings, workshop and conferences as directed by Intervention Specialist and/or Teacher, Supervisor, Principal.
  10. Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of The Warren City School Board of Education.
  11. Perform other duties as directed by the Intervention Specialist and/or Teacher, Principal, Special Education Supervisor, Director of Special Education or designee.

Salary:  Per Negotiated Contractual Agreement.
*Employment upon verification of proper certificate, and completion of Warren City School Districts pre-employment requirements.
