Life Escape Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our remote outpatient team. This position is primarily remote, allowing flexibility while also providing the benefit of regular contact with colleagues in an outpatient office setting. Our working hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients to identify their unique emotional and psychological needs.
• Provide both individual and group counseling sessions tailored to address the specific emotional challenges faced by seniors, particularly those related to loss and life transitions.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to devise detailed and personalized care plans that cater to the mental health needs of geriatric residents.
• Offer educational outreach and support to families and staff regarding effective strategies to enhance the emotional well-being of elderly individuals.
• Facilitate grief counseling sessions that help clients and their families navigate the complex emotions associated with end-of-life issues.
• Implement cognitive stimulation initiatives and utilize evidence-based mental health interventions designed to foster mental acuity among older adults.

The focus of this role is primarily on elderly clients, many of whom are grappling with significant life changes, such as the loss of loved ones, health issues, and transitions into retirement or assisted living. Understanding the context of their experiences, developing trust, and demonstrating sincere empathy are paramount in providing effective mental health care. This role not only supports emotional healing but also aims to improve the overall quality of life for our clients through targeted interventions and supportive counseling.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) designation.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in geriatric counseling and mental health support.
• Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based practices in mental health specific to elderly populations.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to foster connections with our clients.
• Commitment to ethical and legal standards in the mental health field, especially related to geriatric care.

• Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health, aging-related issues, or grief counseling.
• A proven track record of successfully providing counseling to older adults dealing with a variety of mental health challenges.
• An understanding of cultural sensitivities and the capability to relate effectively to older adults from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience in leading support groups or community mental health initiatives.

The compensation for this position ranges from $65,000 to $95,000 annually, with the potential for a sign-on bonus.
