This position offers the flexibility of a fully remote work environment while allowing you to connect with clients in an outpatient office setting when necessary. You will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and healthcare providers, fostering a supportive atmosphere that promotes both personal and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the unique emotional, psychological, and social needs of elderly clients.
  • Provide targeted individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing emotional challenges commonly faced by older adults, including grief, isolation, and life transitions.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare teams, ensuring a holistic approach to care.
  • Facilitate workshops and educational sessions for family members and staff, enhancing their understanding of age-related mental health issues and care strategies.
  • Lead grief counseling initiatives, providing support for clients and their families navigating end-of-life concerns.
  • Utilize cognitive stimulation activities and mental health interventions to promote cognitive well-being and engagement among senior clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role specifically targets the geriatric population, focusing on seniors experiencing loss, significant life changes, and age-related mental health challenges. You will work with diverse individuals who require empathetic, culturally aware counseling tailored to their unique backgrounds and experiences.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • A valid and active Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in New York State.
  • At least 4 years of recent experience in geriatric mental health counseling, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of issues impacting older adults.
  • Specialization in geriatric mental health and evidence-based practices for enhancing emotional well-being in older populations.
Preferred Experience
  • Advanced training in geriatric mental health, including interventions and strategies for addiction counseling.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary team environments, contributing to collaborative care approaches.
  • A proven track record of successful counseling and interventions, with strong communication skills to engage with elderly clients and their families effectively.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive annual salary in the range of $65,000 to $95,000, commensurate with experience, along with performance-based incentives and a sign-on bonus. Our comprehensive benefits package includes an employee assistance program for confidential support, wellness initiatives that promote a balanced lifestyle, and flexible work arrangements that accommodate your life outside of work.
