Position : Senior IT Project Manager – ERP & Enterprise Systems (Manufacturing)

Job Summary

The Senior IT Project Manager – ERP & Enterprise Systems is responsible for leading, planning, and executing enterprise-wide IT initiatives with a strong emphasis on ERP systems, manufacturing operations, and data-driven platforms . This role serves as the primary owner of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) and related enterprise applications, ensuring systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business objectives.


This position combines hands-on ERP system knowledge , IT systems and application oversight , and formal project management leadership to deliver technology solutions across manufacturing, finance, operations, and supply chain functions. This role requires deep experience managing cross-functional stakeholders, external vendors, and technical teams while driving system modernization, optimization, and continuous improvement.


Manufacturing ERP experience is mandatory .


Key Responsibilities:

Project & Program Management

  • Lead end-to-end project management for ERP, IT systems, and enterprise application initiatives, from planning and requirements gathering through deployment and post-implementation support. 
  • Own project scope, schedules, budgets, resource planning, risk management, and change control using formal project management methodologies. 
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, status reports, KPIs, and executive dashboards. 
  • Ensure alignment between business objectives, IT strategy, and system deliverables. 
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, IT, vendors, and system integrators. 
  • Enforce governance standards, documentation requirements, and compliance with internal controls.

ERP Development, Support & Administration

  • Own the overall health, performance, and roadmap of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing modules). 
  • Manage the full D365 environment lifecycle using Microsoft Lifecycle Services (LCS) , Azure DevOps, and Power Platform Admin Center. 
  • Oversee and coordinate ERP system upgrades, patches, quality updates, and releases. Direct ERP configuration, enhancements, integrations, and custom development (X++, integrations, Power Platform). Ensure ERP supports core manufacturing operations including production, MRP, inventory, procurement, costing, and quality. Lead ERP troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and Tier 3 issue resolution.


Manufacturing Systems & Data Platforms

  • Partner with manufacturing, operations, and supply chain teams to optimize ERP and shop floor system usage. 
  • Support and integrate manufacturing data systems , including PIMS (Plant Information Management Systems) and DAMMS
  • Ensure system reliability and accuracy for production reporting, scheduling, inventory management, and compliance. 
  • Translate manufacturing requirements into technical and functional system solutions.


Data & Analytics

  • Drive data strategy and reporting capabilities across ERP and manufacturing systems. 
  • Lead development and maintenance of dashboards and reports using Power BI and ERP reporting tools. 
  • Ensure data integrity, governance, and consistency across enterprise systems. 
  • Support executive and operational reporting needs with actionable insights.


Security & Compliance

  • Design and enforce ERP and system security using role-based access control (RBAC) and segregation of duties (SoD)
  • Manage user access, licensing, onboarding, and offboarding
  • Conduct security audits and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR, CCPA where applicable


Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with Microsoft partners, ERP vendors, system integrators, and consultants. 
  • Lead vendor selection, contract oversight, and performance management
  • Ensure external partners deliver on scope, timeline, quality, and budget commitments

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field

Experience:

  • 8–10 years of progressive experience  in IT systems, ERP platforms, and enterprise applications
  • Significant hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365  (Finance & Operations / Supply Chain)
  • Manufacturing industry experience is mandatory , including ERP support of manufacturing operations
  • Proven experience leading complex, cross-functional IT and ERP project


Project Management:


  • Certified Project Manager (CPM)  or equivalent project management certification.
  • Strong experience applying structured project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)


Technical & Functional Expertise:


  • ERP development and support experience
  • Knowledge of IT systems and application programming concept
  • Experience with Power BI , data systems, and reporting platform
  • Familiarity with PIMS, DAMMS , and manufacturing data environments
  • Strong integration, data flow, and system architecture understanding


Leadership & Communication:


  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-focused outcomes
  • Proven ability to lead teams, influence decisions, and drive accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MB-300, MB-310, MB-920)
  • ERP implementation and transformation experience
  • Experience with SQL Server, SSRS reporting, or X++ code deployment
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies for project delivery
  • Experience with Azure services, integrations, and DevOps. 
  • Experience supporting regulated or highly controlled manufacturing environments.
