What is an ERP Internship Remote?

An ERP Internship Remote is a temporary, entry-level position where interns gain hands-on experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems while working remotely. Interns typically assist with tasks such as software configuration, data migration, user support, and documentation under the supervision of experienced ERP professionals. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in business processes, IT, and software implementation, providing valuable insights into how organizations manage their resources using integrated software solutions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an ERP Internship Remote, and why are they important?

To thrive as an ERP Internship Remote, you need a foundational understanding of business processes, basic data analysis, and familiarity with enterprise resource planning concepts, often supported by coursework or a degree in business, IT, or a related field. Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics, as well as proficiency in Excel and database tools, is typically expected. Strong communication, problem-solving abilities, and self-motivation are valuable soft skills for collaborating virtually and managing tasks independently. These skills are crucial to effectively support ERP projects, contribute to process improvements, and succeed in a remote professional environment.

What are some common challenges faced during a remote ERP internship and how can they be managed?

Remote ERP internships often involve adapting to complex software systems and collaborating with teams across different locations and time zones. One common challenge is staying engaged and communicating effectively with mentors and colleagues without in-person interaction. To manage this, interns should proactively schedule regular check-ins, make use of collaboration tools, and document their progress. Additionally, being self-motivated and organized helps interns navigate tasks and meet deadlines effectively while working remotely.

Job description

Our Higher Ed practice is looking for a motivated and experienced Oracle Cloud ERP Functional Lead Consultant 3-5 years of Oracle Cloud ERP experience (all FIN modules preferred). The ideal candidate has completed 3+ full ERP Financial implementations as a Lead Consultant, preferably within the Higher Education field (such as within a College or University). Higher Ed experience is strongly desired and may be required.

Sierra-Cedar helps Higher Education institutions - more than 350 of them - with the implementation of Oracle software.  Our business-savvy Consultants are responsible for implementing Oracle Cloud ERP and maximizing the benefit of the Oracle software in which the client has invested.

You may or may not lead an actual team on a project, but in either case, this functional role will always be hands-on, driving deliverables, fit-gap analysis, data mapping, developing reports and interfaces, configuring the modules, and more! As a Lead, you will hold meetings on camera on a daily basis, and travel to client sites as needed during project milestones.

Our ideal Oracle Cloud ERP Consultant has a bachelor's degree, close familiarity with Higher Education issues, some knowledge of Oracle products used by Higher Education institutions, and a desire to become part of a Higher Education-focused team within Sierra-Cedar. Oracle Cloud ERP certification is a huge plus!

This position requires approximately 30% travel to client sites (nationwide) as well as remote work from your home office within the United States only - International locations will not be considered. This full-time role may include working occasional nights and weekends to support project milestones.

What we offer:

         Competitive Salary

         Comprehensive benefits package

         Opportunities for growth and development

A collaborative and engaging work environment
