Working Field Supervisor – Erosion Control (SWPPP)
Location: Greater Cleveland, Ohio
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $60,000–$75,000 per year (based on experience) + performance bonus
About Us
We are a growing erosion control contractor serving many of Northeast Ohio's largest home builders. Our work focuses on installing and maintaining Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) Best Management Practices (BMPs) on residential construction sites.
We're looking for a dependable, hands-on leader who enjoys working outdoors, leading people, and helping keep operations organized.
Position Summary
This is primarily a working field leadership position.
Approximately 70% of your time will be spent leading and working alongside an erosion control crew. The remaining time will be spent assisting our Operations Manager with project coordination, equipment management, job documentation, and scheduling when needed.
This position is ideal for someone looking to grow into a larger leadership role.
What You'll Do
Field Responsibilities
  • Lead and work alongside a crew installing and maintaining SWPPP BMPs.
  • Install and repair:
    • Silt fence
    • Inlet protection
    • Compost filter sock
    • Construction entrances
    • Erosion control blanket
    • Temporary seeding and stabilization
  • Ensure work meets builder and municipal requirements.
  • Train crew members and maintain productivity.
  • Communicate professionally with builder superintendents.
  • Solve field issues while keeping projects moving.
Operations Support
  • Assist the Operations Manager with daily scheduling as needed.
  • Fill in for scheduling during vacations or absences.
  • Visit active projects for quality control.
  • Enter job notes, photos, and completed work into Jobber.
  • Help coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs.
  • Prepare equipment and materials for upcoming work.
  • Keep trailers, tools, and the yard organized.
Qualifications
Required
  • 3–5+ years of construction experience.
  • Previous crew leadership experience.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable using smartphones and tablets.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work outdoors in all weather.
  • Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
Preferred
  • SWPPP or erosion control experience.
  • Experience working for a home builder or site contractor.
  • Equipment operation experience.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
