Role summary

Canvas is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual with strong leadership skills to join Franklin Templeton's Managed Options Strategies (FT-MOST) team in Stamford, Connecticut. The Sales & Trading Associate role will require regular interaction with the Co-CIOs, Client Portfolio Managers and Traders as well as with Portfolio Managers and distribution personnel within the larger firm. This position will require the candidate to stay abreast of market structure, industry and regulatory trends as well as company specific initiatives. This position will report to the VP/Client Portfolio Manager of MOST.

How you will add value
  • Work with Franklin Managed Options' senior leadership to facilitate, and execute, operational components of growth-oriented equity derivatives asset management business

  • Help facilitate and execute internal sales initiatives related to FT MOST's growing option overlay business by interacting with advisors, client associates, and custodial partners

  • Support the trading/portfolio managers in implementation and settlement of listed option transactions.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members including Portfolio Managers, Analysts, Compliance Officers, technology, and Trade Support

  • Support sales personnel with periodic and as-needed analysis; prepare presentations, work with internal and external partners on sales and implementation questions

  • As needed, work with internal, and external, technology and custodial partners to support and enhance business operations

  • Implement established protocols and policy guidelines necessary to maintain standardized record keeping practices. Emphasizes maintenance of books and records in compliance with evolving legal, SRO, and governmental regulation.

  • Perform daily reconciliation, quarterly and on-demand performance reporting, security simulation analysis

What will help you be successful in this role
  • Bachelor's degree; finance/economics/accounting preferred

  • 2-4 years of experience in wealth management client service, trading, trade settlement, reconciliation, and trade break resolution

  • FINRA Series 65 or 66 license or willing to obtain within 120 days of hire.

  • Experience with custodians and clearing firms

  • Knowledge of wealth management operations practices a plus

  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, growth environment

  • Familiarity with a wide range of concepts, practices, and procedures in financial services

  • Proficiency in using Bloomberg and various order management systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience in equity/index options is a plus

  • Excellent analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.

  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, demanding environment

  • Proactive and resourceful with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Work schedule & location
  • This position requires onsite work in our Stamford, Connecticut office five days a week.

There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the salary for this position to range between $85,000 - $100,000 per year depending on location plus bonus opportunity.
