Equity Middle Office refers to the team or department within a financial institution that acts as an intermediary between the front office (traders and salespeople) and the back office (operations and settlement). The Equity Middle Office is responsible for trade support, trade validation, risk management, and ensuring that trades are accurately booked and confirmed. They play a crucial role in managing operational risk, monitoring trade lifecycle events, and resolving discrepancies, ultimately ensuring the smooth functioning of equity trading activities.
