Job description

This is a professional position responsible for managing the operation and coordination of day services supporting individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Program Manager works in coordination with the Director of Programs for the management of daily operations, supervision of employees and oversight of the building and grounds. This position is responsible for providing ongoing direction of program planning, evaluation, implementation and development to ensure quality standards are met and maintained

  • Manages daily operation of program, implements policies/procedures.
  • Provides training and monitoring of program goals, assessments, and activities. Monitors care and treatment of individuals during day program services.
  • Coordinates plans and implements CPS, community activities and special events.
  • Coordinates and guides staff responsibilities to support individuals program development.
  • May serve as an activities coordinator and/or may assume Program Specialist responsibilities.
  • Provides day-to-day leadership and training for staff. Develops and maintains the clinical and administrative coordination of all aspects of the program for individuals receiving services.
  • Monitors treatment authorizations ensuring that program and support plans are developed, implemented and maintained.
  • Supports the Director of Program with coordination of billing process of services rendered and maintaining verification records.
  • Supports the Director of Program for budget statistics development and monitoring.
  • Supports the Director of Program for coordination licensing process, on-site licensing process, and plan of correction. Provides daily property management and secures service from the facilities department as needed.
  • Conducts fire drills, monitors fire equipment and safety measures throughout the buildings. People Management/Leadership
  • Instructs and provides ongoing training and support of responsibilities to personnel.
  • Coordinates, assigns and delegates job responsibilities for program and supporting personnel for the delivery of services.
  • Provides supervision and support to personnel by providing mentoring and guidance to enhance competence and effectiveness.
  • Provides leadership and direction to personnel regarding program implementation.
  • Coordinates and provides support to specialized personnel including but not limited to Program Specialist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and Communication Specialist.
  • Manages employees' schedules, verifies timecards, manages time off requests and monitors FMLA/Leave usage. In coordination with Director of Program, interviews, hires, trains, and supports a level of staffing to meet program requirements and operations.
  • Recommends, documents, and/or make decisions in personnel-related matters including disciplinary actions, termination and adherence to company policies and procedures in consultation of supervisor and Human Resources as appropriate
  • Represents Merakey day services with participation in workgroups, committees and appropriate conferences internally and externally.
  • Maintains productive working relationships and communication with employees, stakeholders, participants, families, other programs and agencies.
