Job description

Position Summary

DEX Imaging is seeking a Driver / Setup Associate to support customer deliveries, equipment setup, and basic connectivity needs in the field. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, solving problems, learning new technology, and helping customers get their equipment up and running.

This is not a behind-the-desk IT role. The Driver / Setup Associate will spend time on the road delivering and assisting with the setup of printers, copiers, and related document imaging equipment. The position also supports basic connectivity tasks such as connecting devices to a customer’s network, assisting with print drivers, and helping confirm that equipment is communicating properly.

No formal IT certifications are required. Candidates with basic networking knowledge, printer setup experience, cable/internet installation experience, Geek Squad-style experience, help desk exposure, or general hands-on technical ability are encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely drive to customer locations to deliver equipment, supplies, and related products.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, moving, and staging printers, copiers, and office technology equipment.
  • Support basic setup of document imaging equipment at customer sites.
  • Assist with connecting printers, copiers, and related devices to customer networks.
  • Help with basic print driver installation, device configuration, and connectivity checks.
  • Assist with basic scan-to-folder, scan-to-email, and network communication setup when needed.
  • Troubleshoot basic connectivity issues and escalate more advanced technical issues to the appropriate team.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, service teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Complete required delivery documentation, service notes, data entry, and work records.
  • Maintain company vehicle, equipment, and inventory in a clean and organized manner.
  • Follow all company safety procedures when lifting, pushing, pulling, or moving equipment.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet company driving requirements.
  • 0–3 years of delivery, warehouse, field support, technical support, equipment setup, or related experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as Wi-Fi, Ethernet, IP addresses, routers, network cables, or connecting devices to a network preferred.
  • Experience setting up printers, copiers, computers, routers, modems, POS systems, security cameras, or other connected devices is a plus.
  • No IT certifications required; willingness to learn is most important.
  • Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, email, and basic software tools.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate professionally in person and by phone.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic issues and ask for support when needed.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs with assistance when necessary.
