PURPOSE OF JOB:
We are seeking a Pharmacist to assist in verifying and dispensing nonsterile and sterile compounded prescriptions on a full time or part-time basis. The Pharmacist will also provide coverage for our Pharmacist in Charge on a as needed basis. Candidate must possess a Texas Pharmacist license, and be motivated to help provide our patients with top quality medication, while leading in a collaborative, fast-paced, and fun environment.

COMPETENCIES amp; DUTIES:

Under the guidance of the PIC:

  • Verify prescription medications prior to dispensing them from the pharmacy, including compounding and shipment documentation
  • Ensure compliance with federal laws, state laws, and the standards of practice which govern the pharmacy profession
  • Maintains control over delivering, stocking, and labeling preparations; monitors their condition to prevent expiration or deterioration
  • Safeguards operations and preparations by ensuring staff follow all safety and quality control procedures and guidelines for compounding
  • Oversees the cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance of equipment and work areas
  • Interprets and clarifies prescription orders with prescribing practitioner(s), when necessary
  • Creates, prints and/or checks documents such as batch records, compounding records, labels and shipping documents.
  • Facilitates a team environment to ensure company meets and exceeds daily goals.
  • Performs in-process and final checks of medication.
  • Ensures all pharmacy logs and reports are completed efficiently, accurately and on time
  • As appropriate, inputs patient and prescription information and/or supervises such work as performed by others licensed to do so.
  • Ensures all non-pharmacy staff (including visitors and vendors) adhere to guidance, rules and regulations, as applicable.
  • Other duties, responsibilities, and activities, as needed.
    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Maintain a current, unrestricted Texas Pharmacist license (RPh or PharmD), required
    • Minimum 2 years Pharmacist experience, preferred
    • Sterile certification, preferred
    • Sterile and nonsterile compounding experience, preferred
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
