Job description

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining general ledger and preparing month-end close procedures. The ideal candidate has excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles. The ideal candidate also has experience collaborating with a team of accountant and others as assigned. The Accounting Supervisor requires 3 years’ experience in the related area as an individual contribution. The Accounting Supervisor supports the CFO in various accounting functions including, but not limited to the following responsibilities:
 
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The following responsibilities would characterize the requirements of this position. Must possess the skills necessary to perform the majority of the listed functions:
  1. Supporting the CFO with workflow process improvement and pursuing special projects
  2. Oversee daily transactions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
  3. Responding to inquiries from CFO with various accounting and financial functions
  4.  Monitoring and analyzing the financial department to develop more efficient procedures and proper use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  5.  Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement
  6.  Participate in regular direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  7. Create and analyze liability, asset, and capital accounts by compiling electronic data and required documentation
  8. Summarize and prepare financial status and transactions reports, including a profit and loss statement, and other necessary reports
  9. Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements
  10. Play a vital part in the company's financial management which includes all account reconciliations and reporting to necessary parties
  11. Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
  12. Maintaining accurate financial records
  13. Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
  14. Verify, allocate, post and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
  15. Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
  16. Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  17. Support month-end and year-end close process
  18. Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement
  19. Monitor the daily performance of the accounting department
  20. Making sure members of the accounting team meet all financial reporting deadlines
  21. Handling personnel issues that relate to absenteeism, staff performance, and staff conflict
  22. Perform other related duties as assigned 

REQUIREMENTS:

  3. Master's or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 3+ years accounting/bookkeeping experience or related fields 
  4. Advanced working knowledge of accounting software and EPR System

  7. Strong problem-solving skills
  8. Ability to work independently with little supervision
  9. Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  10. Ability to work under pressure and deal with complex issues

  13. Familiarity with accounting software and programs
