Job description
JOB TITLE: MDFR Specialist
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, flexible 40 hours/wk within the program's operating schedule of 8:00am-8:00pm. Available to work at least two evenings and must have reliable transportation.
PROGRAM/LOCATION: SAFE Family Recovery, based out of either Middletown or Norwich, CT locations
*this is a community-based program providing coverage to clients in Middletown, Norwich and Willimantic, CT

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: SAFE FAMILY RECOVERY
The Safe Family Recovery program encompasses 3 separate programs: SBIRT (Screening Brief Intervention Referral to Treatment), RMCS (Recovery Management Checkup and Support) and MDFR (Multidimensional Family Recovery).
SBIRT is a screening that includes a breathalyzer, urine drug screen, the administration of the GAIN-SS and a discussion with client to identify areas of need related to substance use and mental health and to connection to appropriate treatment as indicated.
RMCS is designed to provide ongoing recovery support and checkups after an episode of treatment. RMCS works to facilitate involvement with pro-social activities, linkage to services as indicated and positive family relationships.
MDFR is an evidence based program that addresses the complex, multi-generational challenges facing families affected by parental substance use and involvement in the child welfare system. MDFR works to address change in the following six domains.
1. Child Functioning & Safety
2. Parent/Individual functioning
3. Family relationships
4. Intimate Partner relationships
5. Parenting/Co-parenting
6. Basic needs/ community resources
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for delivering MDFR services in homes and community to support treatment and
facilitate recovery by improving family relationships and familial role functioning with the whole
family. - Address barriers to treatment and conduct brief therapeutic interventions to increase motivation to
enter services - Provider interventions that increase parenting capacity, reduce child safety risks, and improve
family functioning. - Participate in DCF case consultation and service planning meetings
- Collaborate with team members and DCF workers on cases.
- Collaborates with individuals to create individualized, person centered plan and document client
progress. Insures clients receive services that are focused on client needs. - Uses EMR to document all services and contacts with clients, collateral contacts and
appointments. - Attends all model required meetings and trainings along with coaching calls and agency trainings. Assists other team members as appropriate
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in mental health related field
Experience: At least two (2) years' experience in a adult substance use field. Excellent verbal
communication skills, computer literacy.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver's license.
Training: Will attend all required program trainings.

COMPENSATION*:
$20.30/hour and up commensurate upon experience*
*Actual rates are determined at the time of offer and are based on relevant experience, as well as, adherence to our internal equity policy. Many of our positions offer program/location differentials and/or sign-on incentives. (Please note, for part-time positions this range would be pro-rated based on hours worked)
