Description
The Epilepsy Center in the Department of Neurology at the University of Rochester Medical Center (URMC) has an opening for a full-time epilepsy specialist for a tenure accruing position at the rank of Assistant Professor to join a dynamic multidisciplinary team of clinicians. This position is 75% research and 25% clinical activity. The position will focus on the use of neuroimaging as a biomarker for the development of epilepsy after traumatic brain injury. Clinical activity will include neurophysiology reading and epilepsy monitoring unit service. The University of Rochester has been a leader in epilepsy as a sub-specialty since its inception in 1967. Our Level 4 Epilepsy Center opened in 1991 and has grown to 12 faculty and 35 neurophysiology technologists and support staff. The epilepsy division has evolved allowing training, clinical and research programs to substantially expand. With over 6,000 outpatient and nearly 2,000 inpatient visits a year, we have patients that come from across the U.S. and around the world for consultation.
The program offers outstanding opportunities for 1) participation in a large multidisciplinary epilepsy team; 2) develop research/academic interests; 3) teaching of residents, fellows and students.
Qualifications
Qualification: Candidates should have completed an ACGME accredited Neurology residency and an ACGME accredited Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship. Applicants must be Board certified/eligible in Epilepsy and/or Neurophysiology and in Neurology.
Applicants must have a New York State medical license and pass pre-employment drug testing.

The referenced pay range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job's salary range and established based on (but not limited to) market data, experience and expertise of the individual, and with consideration to related position salaries.
