Job description

Position Overview

Associate Professor of Public Health at Liberty University’s School of Health Sciences will begin Fall 2027. The role involves teaching, curriculum development, research, and student mentorship across the BS, MPH, MSPH, and DrPH programs.

Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in public health, including epidemiology, biostatistics, chronic disease prevention, population health, leadership, and public health practice.
  • Develop and revise curriculum, contribute to program growth, and support accreditation activities.
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in research and academic development.
  • Conduct scholarly work that aligns with the Christian worldview and the mission of Liberty University.
  • Participate in departmental and university service as required.
Qualifications
  • PhD in Public Health or a terminal DrPH degree (or equivalent doctoral training). A master’s degree in public health or a closely related field is required.
  • Demonstrated teaching effectiveness across undergraduate and graduate level courses.
  • Experience in curriculum development, assessment, and program accreditation is highly preferred.
  • Advanced postdoctoral or industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work collegially.
  • Commitment to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.
  • Ability to teach courses aligned with at least one of the DrPH emphasis areas: Maternal and Child Health; Public Health Practice; or Health Policy, Leadership, and Management.
