Appointment Type: Adjunct - Music, Theatre, and Dance
The Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance at Christopher Newport University invites applications from prospective adjunct faculty members to teach individual courses, as needed, for the upcoming Fall and Spring semesters and beyond in applied music, dance instruction, and theatre performance.
Along with demonstrated ability for excellent teaching, candidates must hold an earned graduate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited university in a relevant discipline, with 18 completed semester hours of related graduate course work. Official transcripts will be required at the time of hire.
Adjunct pay for Music and Theater is based on education and experience. The rates begin at the rank of Instructor ($401 for a 1/2 hour, $830 for a full hour) to the rank of Professor ($539 for a 1/2 hour, $1,116 for a full hour). Please note: the rates are per Lecture Hour Equivalent (LHE). New rates for the AY 26-27 are subject to change.
