As a Founding Data Scientist, you will sit at the intersection of analytics, science, and customer delivery.

This is a hands-on role. You will work directly with real-world clinical datasets, own analytic workflows end to end, and ensure every customer-facing dataset and analysis meets a high standard of quality and reproducibility.

You will be a core contributor to both scientific outputs and commercial success.

• Prepare customer-ready analytic datasets from real-world clinical data, including EHR and other healthcare sources.
• Deliver statistical and clinical analyses to customer partners, requiring interfacing with disease experts, providers, and understanding the underlying data.
• Perform rigorous data QA to validate cohort definitions, variable construction, and derived endpoints.
• Write and complete QC reports documenting validation checks and delivery specifications.
• Partner with engineering to identify and resolve data inconsistencies or pipeline issues.
• Ensure reproducibility and clear documentation of all analyses.

• Define and build Century Health's data product portfolio from scratch - spanning customer-facing RWE tools, internal sales analytics, and AI-assisted data exploration
• Establish best practices for analytical workflows, dataset documentation, and output validation across a growing library of reusable study templates and cohort definitions
• Work directly with pharma partners (study design through delivery) and with the sales team (proposal support through post-sale) to ensure data products drive measurable value
• Hire and mentor future data science team members as the company scales, setting technical and scientific standards for the function

• Design and execute observational analyses using real-world data.
• Apply appropriate statistical methods to address confounding, bias, and missing data.
• Produce clear tables, figures, and summaries for external audiences.
• Contribute to white papers, study reports, and methods documentation.
• Translate complex findings into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

We are looking for someone who combines statistical rigor with strong execution skills and comfort working with real-world healthcare data.

Master’s or PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, or related field.

5+ years of experience working with clinical, EHR, claims, or other real-world healthcare data.

Strong proficiency in R or Python for data wrangling and statistical analysis.

Experience building reproducible analytic pipelines and performing structured QA.

Solid understanding of observational study design and common RWE methodologies.

Strong written communication skills, including experience contributing to scientific or client-facing documents.

Ability to work independently and take ownership in a fast-moving startup environment.

Nice to have:

• Experience supporting life sciences or pharma partners.
• Familiarity with regulatory considerations in real-world evidence.
• Experience with large-scale healthcare databases.
