Epicor Kinetic Business Systems Specialist

Mckinney, TX • On-site

Albers Aerospace
Guided Missile and Space Vehicle Manufacturing • 201 - 500 employees

Full-time

Posted 9 days ago

Job description

Our core competencies include systems engineering, program management, logistics, production support, aircraft maintenance, and aviation/aerospace services. We were founded in 2015 and since our establishment, we have been attracting the best talent in our fields of interest enabling us to provide cutting-edge solutions and support to our warfighters. We understand and provide expert consultation on weapons systems acquisition programs, maintenance/modernization programs, and sustainment programs. We know defense and we know aircraft systems.
The Epicor Kinetic Business Systems Specialist serves as the organization's subject matter expert on Epicor Kinetic - the company's ERP system - across the full operational workflow - from Quoting, Sales Orders, and Engineering through Operations Control (Jobs, MRP, Scheduling), Inventory, Shipping, Receiving, Procurement, and Quality. This role partners with site teams to structure and configure Epicor Kinetic to support efficient, standardized processes, troubleshoots day-to-day issues, and supports new site implementations and data cleanup efforts. The role also retains a manufacturing engineering component, supporting process improvement, lean initiatives, and cross-functional collaboration on new product introductions. This position requires deep, hands-on Epicor Kinetic knowledge, strong problem-solving ability, and the ownership mindset to guide process standardization and training across multiple sites as part of a broader team.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Serve as the go-to subject matter expert for Epicor Kinetic across all non-finance operational modules: Quoting, Sales Orders, Engineering, Operations Control (Jobs, MRP, Scheduling), Inventory, Shipping, Receiving, Procurement, and Quality.
  • Advise teams on how to structure and configure Epicor Kinetic settings and processes, applying strong working knowledge of key nuances such as Direct vs. Inventory, Firm vs. Unfirm, Forward vs. Backward scheduling, and different approaches to setting up resources and manufacturing routings.
  • Support end users across sites with day-to-day questions and issues in Epicor Kinetic; where the answer isn't immediately known, test and validate solutions in a development environment before bringing recommendations to the team for execution.
  • Support Epicor Kinetic setup and configuration for new site implementations, including DMT (Data Migration Tool) requirements.
  • Support cleanup, correction, and standardization of configuration and data at existing sites already live on Epicor Kinetic.
  • Maintain awareness of multiple valid approaches to structuring processes within Epicor Kinetic and help guide teams toward the option best suited to their needs.
  • Lead efforts to optimize production processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency, including through lean manufacturing methods.
  • Work with design engineering, operations, and other departments to ensure manufacturability and smooth new product introductions.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement; analyze production and system data to identify and address root causes of errors or inefficiency.
  • Ensure processes support product quality standards and compliance with applicable regulatory and certification requirements (e.g., ISO).
  • Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions to support standardized Epicor Kinetic processes across sites.
  • Train and coach manufacturing engineers, technicians, and system users on Epicor Kinetic and related processes.
  • Establish and monitor process controls and key performance metrics.
  • Take ownership of assigned initiatives, working cross-functionally and communicating effectively with staff across sites and departments.

Note: The duties and responsibilities described in this document are not necessarily a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned to the teammate from time to time; and the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands.
Required Qualifications:
  • Extensive, hands-on experience with Epicor Kinetic, specifically within operational modules: Quoting, Sales Orders, Engineering, Operations Control (Jobs, MRP, Scheduling), Inventory, Shipping, Receiving, Procurement, and Quality. Candidates must be able to hit the ground running on Epicor Kinetic specifically - general ERP experience alone is not sufficient.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring and structuring Epicor Kinetic settings/processes, including a solid understanding of nuanced options (e.g., Direct vs. Inventory, Firm vs. Unfirm, Forward vs. Backward scheduling, resource and routing setup alternatives).
  • Experience supporting Epicor Kinetic implementations at new sites, including DMT usage, as well as cleanup/remediation of existing sites.
  • Experience creating and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, or similar process documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, information systems, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Several years of relevant manufacturing experience, including direct, hands-on Epicor Kinetic experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong computer skills including MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to test and validate solutions in a development environment before implementation.

Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience facilitating training sessions or guiding cross-functional teams through process or system changes.
  • Background in manufacturing engineering, including lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Experience with quality assurance processes and standards such as ISO 9001 / AS9100 Rev D.
  • Familiarity with DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency) requirements is a plus, though not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain working relationships with staff, management, and other departments.
  • Experience supporting multi-site or multi-facility manufacturing operations.
