Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a hospitalist physician for a short-term assignment in Southaven, Mississippi. This inpatient role involves managing adult patients in a high-acuity hospital setting with emergency response duties and operational support, ideal for experienced internal or family medicine physicians.

Opportunity Details

  • Location: Southaven, Mississippi
  • Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
  • Setting: Acute care hospital, inpatient adult medicine, high-acuity environment
  • Coverage: Two-week assignment starting April 1, 2026
  • Schedule: 40 hours per week with day, swing, and night shifts

Schedule & Coverage

  • Day shift: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. with 8 physicians and 3 NPPAs
  • Swing shift: Variable hours (noon to midnight; may vary based on patient volume) with 1 physician
  • Night shift: 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. with 2 physicians and 1 NPPA

Clinical Scope

  • Provide inpatient adult hospitalist care in a high-acuity setting
  • Respond to emergency codes and rapid response teams (RRTs)
  • Manage adult patients across all inpatient needs without procedures
  • Document thoroughly in electronic medical record system (EPIC)

Requirements

  • Valid and unrestricted Mississippi medical license and DEA registration with MS address
  • Recent inpatient or outpatient clinical experience of at least 2 years
  • Board eligible or certified in internal medicine or family medicine
  • Residency completed in IM or FM
  • ACLS certification
  • Proof of flu vaccination within the past year
  • Documented case logs and CME credits within the past 2 years
