Opportunity:
Sonography - Sonography
Job Details:
• Perform sonographic examinations across all areas of ultrasound including OB/GYN, Abdominal, Small Parts, Breast, Vascular, OR, and Procedure in accordance with ACR guidelines and department-specific policies
• Assist with providing 24/7 coverage of the Ultrasound Service with rotating Saturdays, holidays, and call coverage
• Work variable shifts, weekends, and provide emergent call coverage as scheduled
• Produce high-quality images ensuring all images are appropriately labeled and identified
• Recognize normal anatomy and physiology, normal variations, and pathology, adjusting imaging processes as needed
• Analyze physician orders and patient history to ensure correlation between patient history and exam to be administered
• Contribute technical and professional knowledge to the interpreting physician
• Demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of EPIC/Radiant and PACS information systems
• Maintain equipment in working order, performing minor adjustments, repairs, routine cleaning, and preventive maintenance
• Prepare patients for exams by providing clear explanations of procedures using the AIDET technique
• Assist in the transfer and positioning of patients prior to and after imaging
• Provide assistance to radiologists and other medical staff during interventional, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures requiring ultrasound guidance
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques, remaining current on any changes or updates
• Verify, collect, document, and hand off lab specimens
• Coordinate with other departments and modalities for appropriate scheduling and throughput of exams including floor nurses, radiology, and centralized scheduling
• Assist with answering phones, scheduling patients, coordinating inpatients, and providing instruction to medical staff and patients
