Job description

Locum Hematology/Oncology Physician Coos Bay, OR

Location: Coos Bay, Oregon
Position Type: Locum Tenens
Start Date: April 1, 2025 (Ongoing)
Call Requirements: 7 days per month, including 1 weekend (1:4 rotation)

Shift details: Minimum of 2 weeks of coverage per month; 4 or 5 days per week, 8:30a-4:30p, admin day or 1/2 day if needed

Opportunity Overview:

Seeking a Board-Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician for locum coverage in outpatient cancer center. This opportunity offers a mix of oncology and hematology cases (80% oncology, 20% hematology), with a focus on seeing new solid tumor diagnoses within one week of referral.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outpatient oncology/hematology care in a free-standing cancer center
  • Average 10-15 outpatient visits per day
  • Hospital rounding only when inpatient chemo is required
  • Supervise and collaborate with 2 APPs
  • Work with radiation oncologists on-site
  • Utilize EPIC EMR

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Board Certified in BOTH Hematology & Oncology
  • Active Oregon Medical License
  • Clean Background / No Malpractice (Highly Preferred)
  • DEA
  • BLS Certification Required
  • Credentialing Timeframe: 6-8 weeks
