Epic Csm information

How does an Epic CSM typically collaborate with clinical and IT teams during an EHR implementation?

An Epic CSM (Customer Success Manager) plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between clinical staff and IT professionals during an Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation. They facilitate communication to ensure that clinical workflows are accurately translated into the Epic system and address technical constraints. Epic CSMs often lead meetings, gather feedback from end users, and coordinate with IT to resolve issues, ensuring the project stays on track and meets organizational goals. This collaborative environment requires strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of both clinical processes and IT systems.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Epic CSM, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Epic CSM (Customer Success Manager), you need a strong understanding of healthcare workflows, Epic software products, and project management principles, often supported by a bachelor’s degree and relevant Epic certification. Familiarity with Epic modules, client management tools, and ticketing systems is typically required. Outstanding communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills help CSMs collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams. These abilities are vital for ensuring clients achieve their desired outcomes and maximize the value of their Epic investment.
