Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Specialty Orthopedics unit at a hospital in Summit, NJ, requiring an active NJ RN license and at least 1 year of experience.

Details
  • Specialty Orthopedics unit within a hospital setting
  • Night shift: 7p–7a, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
  • Surgical patient population including pre- and post-operative care across the continuum
  • Float to a nearby sister hospital may be required on an as-needed basis
  • No on-call required
  • Epic EMR used for charting
Requirements
  • Active NJ RN license (or compact license with NJ privilege) required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include comprehensive patient assessment, direct patient care, and accurate documentation of the nursing process
  • Provides individualized care to surgical patients, accounting for procedure type and anesthesia across the continuum of care
  • Performs pre-operative and post-operative assessments and patient/family education
  • Supports Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) order evaluation for appropriateness based on proposed surgery, patient age, and health status
  • Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals, including two-patient identifier protocols and Universal Protocol
  • Two professional references are required for consideration
  • Travelers may remain on assignment for up to one calendar year from the initial start date; a break of 30–60 days is required before returning to a new assignment
