Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 2 years of LDRP experience and Epic proficiency.

Details
  • , Works in an LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) unit rotating through Labor, Triage, and Mother-Baby postpartum care roles
  • Postpartum assignments typically involve caring for 3-4 couplets
  • Labor assignments typically involve caring for 1-2 patients
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts from 18:30 to 7:00
  • 20-week assignment length
  • On-call requirements average 16-20 hours within a 6-week schedule, based on staffing needs
  • Alternative to call includes picking up one extra weekend shift and one extra weekday shift
  • Floating required in rotation with facility staff, with appropriate orientation provided
  • Uses Epic EMR system
Requirements
  • Active RN license (MD or Compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of L&D/LDRP nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Required certifications: BLS and NRP
  • AWHONN (Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced) or NCC certification also accepted
  • FHM certification required
  • OB surgical recovery (C-section) experience highly preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Provide comprehensive care across labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum phases
  • Perform skills including fetal monitoring, IV therapy, medication administration (Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives), and newborn assessment
  • Assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries, circulate for C-sections, and provide postpartum recovery care
  • Support breastfeeding/lactation, newborn care, and discharge teaching for new parents
  • Expect to work some holidays and weekends
  • Local candidates accepted at a reduced bill rate
  • RTO must be submitted and approved prior to assignment start
  • Travelers must separate for a minimum of 90 days after 1 year before returning to the same facility
  • Former permanent employees must wait a minimum of 1 year before returning as a traveler
