Job Summary
Ready to help build the future of American energy? As a Project Engineer at Centrus Energy, you'll serve as the owner's advocate and play a hands-on role in bringing complex projects to life. From early planning and design through construction, testing, and final turnover, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to help deliver critical systems and infrastructure supporting the deployment of our enrichment facility in Piketon, Ohio. This is an exciting opportunity to develop deep technical expertise, work alongside industry partners, and make a lasting impact on one of the nation's most important energy initiatives.
What You Will Do
You'll partner with Centrus teams, EPC contractors, vendors, and suppliers to support the design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and startup of new and existing plant systems. You'll help develop engineering documentation, support quality and configuration management activities, participate in field walkdowns, assist with integrated testing efforts, monitor project progress and budgets, and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with program requirements. Occasional travel to vendor locations will be part of the role.
We'd Love to Hear From People With:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Degrees in Architecture or Construction Management will also be considered
  • 3+ years of engineering experience, preferably supporting construction or industrial projects
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a "Q" clearance

A Successful Candidate Brings:
  • Project engineering or project management experience
  • Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering background
  • Experience working with contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with quality programs, testing activities, and configuration management processes
  • Current "Q" security clearance

This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance. Candidates for positions requiring a security clearance are required to be tested for the absence of any illegal drug as defined in 10 CFR 707.4 prior to an offer of employment being made. In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
