EPC Project Manager - Combined Cycle Power Generation
Position Summary
The EPC Project Manager is responsible for the oversight of the engineering responsibilities for the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) activities on any of combined cycle power plant projects. This role ensures that the engineering responsibilities are delivered in compliance with project contractual, technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements. The EPC Project Manager-Engineering serves as the primary interface focused on the engineering deliveries regarding project procurement efforts and the project construction efforts to ensure engineering deliveries on the project, and any specific engineering issues with project construction contractors, equipment suppliers, and commissioning personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Project Leadership-Direct all phases of project engineering for EPC execution from notice-to-proceed through commercial operation, develop and implement project engineering execution strategies, lead interdisciplinary engineering teams for project procurement, construction, quality, and commissioning, establish project engineering objectives, KPIs, and performance metrics.
Engineering Management-Oversee detailed engineering activities for combined cycle power plants, ensure design compliance with owner requirements, codes, standards, and permits, coordinate engineering disciplines, and manage design reviews, value engineering, and technical risk assessments.
Engineering for Procurement-Provide engineering support forprocurement of long-lead and critical equipment, support efforts as needed for supplier selection, contract negotiations, and vendor performance.
Engineering for Construction Management-Coordinate engineering as required for support for site construction activities, assist as needed to resolve site technical and commercial issues.
Engineering for Contract Administration- Manage engineering EPC contract obligations and commercial risk, review and negotiate change orders ensure contractual deliverables.
Engineering for Risk Management- Manage engineering if needed to identify project risks and opportunities, mitigation plans for technical, commercial, construction, and safety risks.
Engineering for Commissioning & Startup-Assist if requested with pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and performance testing, coordinating system turnover and plant handover activities, and support transition to operations and maintenance teams.
Engineering for Stakeholder Management-Assist if requested with owners, lenders, regulators, and project stakeholders, provide assistance if requested with project review meetings and steering committee presentations.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing EPC projects in power generation, energy, or heavy industrial sectors, 5+ years of experience with Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plants, strong knowledge of EPC contracting models and project delivery methods.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP Certification, Professional Engineer (PE) License, experience with major OEM equipment
