CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Technician to join our Environmental Team in Albany, NY, where you will assist with field sampling, environmental assessments, data review, permitting support, and report preparation. This is a great opportunity to build your technical foundation, work alongside experienced scientists and project managers, and contribute to projects that support clients, communities, and the natural environment.


  • Assist with field sampling, surveys, environmental assessments, and research activities
  • Support data analysis, reporting, and the completion of environmental permits
  • Help prepare investigative reports, including tables, figures, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with environmental documentation, permitting, and mitigation planning for a variety of clients
  • Document weekly and monthly field activities for reporting purposes
  • Complete field assignments in a variety of outdoor and job site conditions

  • Associate’s degree in Environmental Science or related field required
  • No prior experience required; internships and/or applicable coursework are preferred
  • Experience ArcMap or basic GIS Mapping, AutoCAD, and/or Revit is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and willingness to learn within the environmental science field
  • Valid driver’s license required with the ability to perform field work in various conditions
  • NYSDOL Asbestos Project Monitor License or NYS Asbestos Inspection certification required
